Adobe recently announced a number of new updates for the 2015 release of their video tools. The updates affect Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, SpeedGrade, Prelude and Adobe Media Encoder, in addition to which the company is introducing a new animation app "Adobe Character Animator" that brings 2D characters to life, as well as a new mobile project which has been code named "Candy".
In terms of the updates to Premiere Pro, this includes a new colour workspace which includes the new Lumetri Colour panel. This enables editors to be able to work with colour and light in a number of new ways right throughout the editing process, with having to switch out of the application. The new tools combine colour technology from SpeedGrade with Photoshop Lightroom style controls, making adjustments simple and easy to apply. For those who want to take things a step further, you can use Direct Link to continue working on your project within SpeedGrade.
CC libraries made there way into Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign over the last year, well now they are coming to both Premiere Pro and After Effects, allowing you to access and use looks and graphics from anywhere.
Another nice addition is Morph Cut, which uses frame interpolation and face tracking to create seamless transitions that in the past would have been almost impossible to achieve.
Other new features include the ability to burn closed captions into video on export, editing refinements like the new compositive preview during trim, Source Setttings now showing as Master Clip Effects and improved AAF exports. Audio routing is now easier as is moving between Premiere Pro and Audition, and Adobe's new Time Tuner technology lets you alter the duration of an export by up to 10%, by automatically adding or removing frames in areas of low activity.
Adobe hasn't given a release date yet for the 2015 updates but it is widely expected to be sometime this next few months. Once the updates are released existing subscribers to Creative Cloud will simply need to click the update button in the Creative Cloud panel to make the most of the new features.
