With the advent of HTML5 and CSS3, it is possible to create lovely animations using these technologies, along with JavaScript. The problem is though, you basically have to hand code everything. There is, as yet, no application that gives you a graphical interface (á la Flash) that allows you to drag and drop items, animate them just choosing options from a menu, and so on.

Pan

We often see them, those tall or wide angle or 180 degree panoramic that wow us when they catch our gaze. What if I said, you can do them too very easily. All you need is a series of photographs that fit together into a panoramic. When taking the photos ensure you do not use a wide angle lens and leave some overlap between them so Photoshop can work out where they go. Also, unless your computer is brand new and fitted with the latest high end hardware, try to keep the number of pictures to less than 15 if you camera is taking each picture at about 4000×3000 pixels. Go grab your camera now and take some; don’t worry, I will be here for when you get back.
